Double page spread LIIAR magazine

Double page spread LIIAR

Kerrang music magazine LIIAR analysis:
Language:
A clear masthead is used showing the name of the magazine right across the top of the front cover; it is bold and easy to see, it stands out from the background and the font is clear. The masthead used for this magazine is memorable and it is also a dominant icon that is noticed easily.
This issue of Kerrang has a clear house-style of two or three main colours of green, yellow and white. It is kept nice and simple but not to plain, this makes it attractive to its audience because it’s not too crowded or to bright. The use of the colour green relates to the main image and the main headline as the band name is “Green Day”.
The main photograph on the cover is relevant to the main headline as it is a photo of one of the band members of Green Day and the headline is Green Day. The dark colours used in the main image relate it more to the magazine as the genre of the magazine is rock.
There is use of teasing content across the bottom of the page, this really grabs your attention as they use the word "plus", it really makes you want to find out more and read the magazine.
There is a competition clearly shown on the front page, this makes you want to buy the magazine so you can enter this amazing competition. There is also a free gift stated at the top of the magazine, where you get a 'rated'8 page pull out.
There is a price and barcode clearly shown in the bottom right hand corner of the magazine, making it easy for people to see the price of this magazine.
Institution:
Kerrang who is an existing publisher is the institution of this magazine. The genre of the magazine is going to be similar to the magazine I am going to be creating. Kerrang! is a rock music magazine published by Bauer Consumer Media in the United Kingdom
 Ideology
I think the message this front cover of Kerrang conveys to its audience is that the people featured in this magazine are real people and not just celebrities and they sometimes still live a normal life style.
Audience:
I think the target audience of Kerrang would be teenagers who like rock music or just people who are into this sort of music. It could even be aimed at people who just like to read about bands and artists of that certain genre.
Representation:
I think Kerrang intends is audience and the people featured in the magazine to be represented in a positive and accurate way.  I think Kerrang stereotypically represents the audience as people who like only that music and no other type of music.
